A QUICK GUIDE SUMMARY TO THE BEST UL'S OF THE SILVER SCREEN

UL:	A Star Wars trading card was altered to give C-3PO a very large penis.

Notes: The card in question is the C-3PO card from the Topps' 1978 Star Wars set. Legend has it that a disgruntled artist added the 'penis' to the original image of C-3PO. The official version is that it is an unfortunate trick of timing and light. It is suggested that a piece fell off the C-3PO costume and just happened to line up in that position as it was falling at the exact moment the photo was taken.

UL:	The briefcase retrieved by Vincent and Jules in the film Pulp Fiction contained the soul of their boss, Marsellus Wallace.

Notes: Tarantino has been quoted as saying that he didn't know what to put in the briefcase, so he decided to leave it to the viewers to decide.

Another legend claims that the briefcase contains the diamonds from the film 'Reservoir Dogs'.

 

UL:	While on an elevator in a posh hotel, a terrified tourist mistook Eddie Murphy for a mugger.

Notes: The legend has it that Eddie Murphy boarded an elevator with a few of bodyguards. An old lady was already in the elevator. A bodyguard said 'Hit the floor', meaning for the floor button to be pressed. The old lady shrieked in fear and dropped to her knees. Eddie Murphy was so embarrassed, he helped her up, bought her flowers, and paid for her hotel stay.

UL:	The ghostly figure of a boy that died in the apartment where they were filming Three Men & A Baby can clearly be seen near a window in one of the scenes.

Notes: The figure was actually a stand-up advertising board cut-out of Ted Danson, that was accidentally left in front of the window by a propman.

This was noticed and the rumours were strife just before the sequel 'Three Men & A Little Lady' was released in US cinemas. Could this have been a clever marketing coup?

UL:	The actress Shirley Eaton who was completely painted gold for the infamous scene in Goldfinger died from asphyxiation, and was already dead when the scene was filmed.

Notes: Humans do not breathe through their skin as it was once believed. Although it is possible for the body to overheat if completely painted because humans perspire through the pours of our skin, and clogging them up would prevent the body cooling down.

Shirley Eaton did not die during the filming of Goldfinger and went on to star in other films.

UL:	One of the Bond girls in 'For Your Eyes Only' was originally a man.

Notes: Caroline Cossey who was a Bond girl in the 1981 James Bond film 'For Your Eyes Only' was actually a transsexual. Cossey was not one of the main Bond girls in the film and only made a fleeting appearance, with the film credits describing her as a girl by the pool.

UL:	Many of the cast of the Poltergeist trilogy have met untimely deaths.

Notes: Because of the films nature, it is believed by many that they are cursed. 4 people who starred in the films died during the time period of the trilogy, 2 of them unexpected:

22-year old Dominique Dunne died on 4 November 1982, after her boyfriend had strangled her half to death and leaving her in a coma for 4 days before she died.

12-year-old Heather O'Rourke died of septic shock on 1 February 1988, after being taken to hospital for what seemed a simple case of a bout of the flu.

60-year-old Julian Beck died of stomach cancer on 14 September 1985

53-year-old Will Sampson died on 3 June 1987 after receiving a heart-lung transplant 6 weeks earlier.

UL:	Sylvester Stallone starred in a porn movie

UL:	Snuff movies can be bought on the black market.

Notes: This rumour has been in circulation for many years despite not having any basis of truth.

UL:	The scene where Brandon Lee was fatally shot was left in the final cut of the Crow.

Notes: The fateful scene in which Brandon Lee was fatally injured by a fragment of a dummy bullet fired at a bag he was holding was scrapped. The scene that appeared in the final cut of the film had Brandon Lee's face added to a double who had acted out the scene.

UL:	All six leading men of The Full Monty really did perform a full-frontal flash in front of 400 screaming woman in the final scene.

UL:	In The Wizard Of Oz, a Munchkin who commited suicide on set can clearly be seen swinging from a rope from two different camera angles in the same scene.

Notes: Something can be seen swinging, but it could be anything. No Munchkins were officially reported to have died on set.

UL:	Following Hugh Grant's arrest after being caught with prostitute Divine Brown, scenes of his character in the film Nine Months being arrested and photographed for mug shots were deleted from the final cut.
